Two Lines of Encryption Products
TECHNITEIA developed for its customers two distinct lines of encryption products:
- The DQ-Line. The encryption products of this line are conceived for being compliant with TECHNITEIA's DQ-Line of compression products. Nevertheless, they can work and hence be sold separately from TECHNITEIA compressor engine.
- The TEL-Line. The encryption products of this line are based on the proprietary TEL (Techniteia Encryption Library) library, able to grant a maximum of security to large data-bases for any industrial application.
Characteristics Of Our Line Of Data Encryption Products
This product line addresses the need for high security data management.
Shared-key (symmetric) encryption is perhaps the most fundamental cryptographic task.
It is used in a large variety of applications, including protection of the secrecy of login passwords, ATM PINS, e-mail messages, video transmissions (such as pay-per-view movies), stored data files, and Internet-distributed digital content.
It is also used to protect the integrity of home-banking and point-of-sale transactions, in key distribution protocols (such as Kerberos), and many other applications.
The current standard for shared-key encryption is the DES cipher, which was developed by IBM in the early 70’s. Although DES has provided a secure encryption algorithm for the past 25 years, its block-length and key-length limitations – combined with the advances in computing technology – necessitate the design of new ciphers for use in the next 25 years.
TECHNITEIA developed thus a proprietary DQCrypt Cipher able to evolve in order to satisfy the actual and the future ever more constraining requests of security, as well as the different needs of our customers. More...

TEL (Techniteia Encryption Library) is actually based on the Blowfish encryption algorithm.
The main character of TEL is that, besides the master keys, it has the set of variable sub-keys, necessary for the blowfish encryption algorithm, randomly generated by a secure random generator within a sub-module physically separated from the database.
So, spatially adjacent parts of the database are encrypted with different keys.
Moreover, the same parts of the database, for different storing sections of the data, are encrypted in time with different keys.
TEL automatically recovers the proper key for each set of the stored data. In this way, also if an intruder is able “to crack” a key, the damage is strongly limited.
Another character is that TEL is written in ANSI C so to make easily exportable onto all main commercial platforms. Finally it is strongly optimized so to be particularly suitable for real‑time applications.
The crypto library contains actually two main cryptographic functions, implementing a specific encryption algorithm, the Blowfish. Of course, other encryption method can be used instead.
Actually, TEL can be sold separately to be implemented in any database, on whichever platform and OS, because of the easy ANSI C portability.
However, TECHNITEIA developed a family of products based on TEL, particularly designed for the Italian Market, but easily exportable in other geographic and commercial environment: the C(lient)TEL family of products. More...
